FAQ

I’ve always believed the cornerstone of a working relationship is communication, therefore it has always been paramount for me to be as transparent as possible in my business.  That is why I created this FAQ below.

Note: Besides the FAQ, you’ll get the best idea of who I am and what I’m about by having a good ole fashion conversation with me :)

Style and Technical

Q: What is your style?

A: Very groovy! There’s a long and short answer to this. The short answer is: Quick, fun and energetic. I shoot a mix of documentary style, fine-art and classic. Always creative and always paying attention to good candid moments.

Long answer: I’ve been told many times by couples, friends and families, “it’s like you weren’t even there”. To clarify—I try to be as unobtrusive as possible, while still getting the necessary shots. It’s your wedding, and I try to stay out of the spotlight as much as possible. My couples are also always surprised at how many “extra” shots they receive of their friends and family that they didn’t expect. My second shooter and I are always paying attention to the room and making sure to grab those great candids to include in your collection. During our couples shoot, I keep it quick and bring the energy. It’s always a goal to not take you away from your wedding party or other scheduled events more than necessary. I’ve learned to work efficiently and keep it fun. I’m not going to spend 30 minutes setting up a light for posed shots that get old and awkward. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll call for some cheesy shots, but I know how to work quick. I want you to get back so you can enjoy all the tasty food at cocktail hour! Depending on where we are, I shoot any idea that pops into my head. I’m not afraid to be creative and try new things on the day, and get as unique a collection for you as possible. I’ve never had a couple that seemed bored with me! As I mentioned in the short version, I’m always paying attention for great candids. You’ll see although out my site, pictures of couples with giant belly rolling laughs. This is what I invoke and look for. Belly rolling laughs, outrageous dance moves, quiet moments, and most of all, LOVE.

Q: What can I expect from you as my wedding photographer?

A: You can expect complete professionalism from Photography G during and after your wedding day. We will work closely with the other vendors at your event to make sure you stay on schedule as much as possible. We will discuss the family portraits and aspects of your wedding you’d like covered beforehand to make sure nothing is overlooked. The Team’s unobtrusive, photojournalistic style allows us to fade into the background as you get ready and enjoy the day. We will check in with you at the end of the night before our team leaves to make sure we’ve captured everything.

Q: Who will be shooting the wedding?

A: Myself, and one of my assistants or trusted second shooters

Q: Do you carry backup equipment

A: Yes, multiples of everything.

Q: Do you have insurance?

A: Yes, up to $1,000,000. Many venues require it.

Q: We’re awkward in front of the camera, is that ok?

A: Yes, of course! I understand that you might not have experience being photographed and I'm here to help. Through my easy shooing style and natural posing, I make sure that you look natural and lovely in your photos. Some people take a little longer to warm up, and in those cases I make sure that you feel comfortable and relaxed while we are shooting. I promise, I make it painless and fun, and it won't be nearly as bad as you think!

Q: Are you able to shoot inside, even if it’s dark?

A: Yes. There are many photographers these days that will “only shoot in natural light”, for whatever the reason. We have the equipment to properly light photos in dark venues.

Q: What kind of equipment do you use?

A: Canon 5d Mark iV and a variety of prime and zoom lenses as well as a backup camera.

Q: Do you carry back-up equipment?

A: Yes. Cameras, lenses, memory cards. Pretty much 2 or everything. No technical issues will effect the day.

Q: Can I give you a shot list?

A Up to you! If any special photos that you would like, any people that you want, to make sure that they are in your images. You can email it to me or talk to me about it whenever you’d like. I usually roll up with a long mental list of what photographs I have to take, but please let me know of anything else you would like and I would be more then happy to make sure we capture it. Usually if you can think of it, it’s already on my list.

Q: What does a second photographer do?

A: More photographs! More and more! And helps me set up in certain situations.

Q: Do you shoot (Large / Small / Indian / Persian / Jewish / Christian / Gay / Non-Religious) WEDDINGS?

A: You betcha! Everyone’s cool, man.

Planning, Booking and Payment

Q: What are your prices and packages?

A: Check out the “Investment” page for all the info. We try to keep it as straight forward as possible.

Q: Where are you based?

A: Although we travel often, current home base is in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Q: Will you travel anywhere for a wedding?

A: Yes, definitely.

Q: How much will it cost?

A: Every location is worked out on a case by case basis.

Q: What is required to book the wedding?

A: A 50% deposit of the collection price and a signed contract (a mutual agreement) will secure the date. Full payment is due a week before the wedding.

Q: What is the level of contact we will have between the time of booking and the time of the actual wedding?

A: As much as you’d like! My phone is always available and email is always checked for spontaneous questions and concerns. I will bug you about certain things along the way like shooting location, and timeline on the day, but other than that, it’s up to you!

Q: Do you shoot video?

A: Not anymore, but we have plenty of great recommendations.

Q: What about tax?

A: All the collection prices on the “investment” page already include tax. We take care of it on our end and have found this to be the easiest system.

Receiving Images

Q: How many photos will we receive?

A: While each wedding is different—depending on size, location and setting—75 full edited images per hour is an average minimum.

Q: How will we receive the photos?

A: Each photo is carefully and artistically edited and then delivered in high resolution on both a USB drive, as well as a password protected online gallery available for one year

Q: What are “fully edited” images?

A: Every photo is individually color corrected if necessary, while little details are looked over to provide the most powerful collection possible.

Q: When will we receive the photos?

A: Although it’s tough to compete with the instant availability of camera-phone photos, we always try to provide a few “best of” photos within the first 48 hours. The full collection will be available in 2-3 weeks after the wedding. It is so important to get them to you As Soon As Possible.

Q: Do you save my images?

A: Yes, we keep them for a while. For starters, they will be available in the protected online gallery for at least 1 year.
